Where your LinkedIn headline shows up
Your headline appears next to your name on your profile, in search results, on your posts and comments, and in connection invitations. Often only the first part is visible, so put the most important words first.
What makes a strong LinkedIn headline
A simple formula: Role at Company | Helping [audience] [achieve outcome] | Topic you post about.
Lead with your role
Start with what you do in words recruiters and clients search for.
Add who you help
Name your audience: founders, finance teams, first-time buyers.
Show the outcome
Say what changes for people who work with you, in plain language.
Keep it scannable
Separate two to four parts with a " | " so it reads quickly.
How to change your LinkedIn headline
- 1Go to your LinkedIn profile.
- 2Click the pencil icon in your intro section.
- 3Paste your new text into the Headline field and save.
Frequently asked questions
How long can a LinkedIn headline be?
A LinkedIn headline can be up to 220 characters long. Every suggestion from this generator stays within that limit.
How are characters counted?
Every character counts, including spaces, emoji and line breaks. For LinkedIn, the 220-character limit includes the separators between parts of the headline. Each suggestion shows its length, and suggestions that would go over the limit are removed before you see them.
Should I use emoji in my LinkedIn headline?
Sparingly, if at all. Most strong headlines use none, so emoji starts switched off on this page. Turn it on if it suits your style.
Is this generator free?
Yes. You don't need an account or a credit card. To keep it fast for everyone, each visitor can generate 5 times per minute and 30 times per day across FeedHive's free AI tools.
Do you store what I type?
No. FeedHive doesn't save your description or the suggestions. Your description is sent to an AI model only to write the suggestions, and they are gone when you leave the page.
Can I edit and use the suggestions?
Yes. They're yours to use, edit or combine. The best bios usually take one suggestion as a starting point and add a detail only you know.
Does it work in other languages?
Yes. Write your description in your language and the generator answers in the same language.
